Crayola Factory

This was the trip that almost didn't happen.  The drive to the Crayola Factory is a long one, so we ended up stopping at a service station when we were about 3/4 of the way there.  Once everybody had used the potty and we were buckled in once again, the car would not start.  At all.  Fun, fun, fun.

After looking under the hood for a while, hoping the solution would jump out at us and hit us over our head, we brought everyone back inside and let all the kids pick a treat while we "let the car rest."  DH and I started silently begging the car gods to work their magic as we tried calming down the children amongst us that do not handle unexpected changes very well.  As the kids finished their snacks, I took a deep breath, crossed my fingers, and headed to the car.  Somehow the car started this time, and we all decided not to question it.

We continued our trek to...

We made some free crafts....

Danced in front of the cool light shifty thingy . . .

Posed behind the astronaut mural.....

Colored and played with Model Magic.....

And then moved our boats through the canals at the Canal Museum.

Ultimately this was a good trip which had to be shortened due to car troubles.  I believe I am going to start rating our Museum Monday excursions.  The Delaware Children's Museum was 5 stars, no question.  I think this trip was 3 stars - good, but not great.

But don't we all look stylin' in our special tie-dyed shirts?

  1. I hadn't thought about it but it makes sense that there would be crafts there, making those tie-died shirts double genius! I am SO doing the same thing when we go later this summer.
